Why heat transfer vs screen printing? Well -screen printing has come a long way in its ability to use more than just a few colors but the more colors you use the more expensive it gets. Heat tranfer printing is done by transfering an image in one just a few quick steps making it a more affordable option for smaller orders.
Down side to heat transfer printing? Images are best transfered to a white background. If you use a white t-shirt the images are transfered directly to the t-shirt. Otherwise they must be transfered to a white background then the background is heated to the shirt. This is a different process and leaves a totally different feel to the shirt. Whereas if you transfer directly to the white t-shirt you cannot feel any transfer residue on the shirt – the image becomes a part of the shirt.
